Mind and Media Moving to Old Town

Communications and media production firm set up shop in Mount Vernon Avenue office in 1999.

Mind and Media, a communications and media production firm located on Mount Vernon Avenue in Del Ray, is moving to a new office in Old Town on June 1.

The company set up shop in its office located at 2016 Mount Vernon Ave. in 1999.

After 14 years in the space, Mind and Media management and employees are beginning the arduous process of moving to Waterman Place, located at 901 N. Pitt St.

“It’s a lot of work to move after 14 years. … We’re getting into a more efficient space for the kind of company we are,” said Marilyn Finnemore, Mind and Media’s CEO and president. “We did not want to leave the area. We’re moving to another walkable community. You really get spoiled here in Alexandria.”

Finnemore, a Del Ray resident, said the commercial property rates are really good in the city right now. 

Mind and Media’s Mount Vernon Avenue office—a 7,204-square-foot-building—is currently available for rent at $25 per square foot per year for one tenant or potentially multiple tenants and uses.

A 3,048-square-foot first level is available for office, medical, school and retail use with approximately seven off-street parking spaces. The second level, also 3,048 square feet, is available for office use and includes a conference room, kitchen and seven parking spaces. A third-level, 1,108-square-foot penthouse office includes an outdoor deck overlooking Mount Vernon Avenue and two parking spaces.
