About Kenyon
I'm the guy riding the old black Schwinn cruiser through the streets of Del Ray. The farmer's market is a weekly stop to search for meal ideas. Home is a 1929 Sears Bungalo on West Howell, where my wife and two children have lived since 1996. Our dog, Odin, is chasing the ever elusive squirrels into your yard.
Environmental protection is my profession and passion, but I believe in pragmatic progress. I formerly chaired Alexandria's Environmental Policy Commission and was a member of the Alexandria Open Space Steering Committee. Going even further back, I have an MS in Environmental Science from Johns Hopkins and a BS in Conservation and Resource Studies from the University of California, Berkeley. A 30-foot coast redwood grows in our front yard on the corner of Howell and Russell; a reminder of my California roots.
Besides cruising Del Ray on my bike, I love backpacking, flyfishing, swimming, mushroom hunting, beer brewing, gardening and cooking.
