ReplyMy husband, our 1 year old and 3 year old, my dad and stepmom and I all volunteered together with THP last Christmas for our family service project. We caroled at a local nursing home. It was SO REWARDING!!! - totally recommend for groups or individuals of all ages. There are even some visits you can do with your pet. :-)

ReplyGreat card! I did include a picture of us this year. But, I normally go for a design with lots of pictures - so I end up choosing a selection of whatever works out of our photo collection of the year. Sometimes the dog makes the cut, sometimes it's just the kids. ...Yours is adorable! Great job.

ReplyI've made an oath to myself to not enter the mall this season... I'm only shopping locally or online. Also - for the past few years, my husband and I have made each other gifts. It's fun and pushes us to think out of the box a little.

ReplyI do a mix of both... I have my staple Christmas decor that I reuse, and then I try to add a few new things or find new ways to use the old stuff every year. One thing that I like is to use a potted Rosemary plant in the kitchen as a mini tree - it looks festive, smells amazing and comes in handy for fresh herbs! You can get them pretty cheap at Trader Joe's.

ReplyI've found some good hostess gifts at the Garden Contessa. I think I last got some beeswax candles and really cute tea towels. Penny gift wrapped them, and I was on my way!

ReplyI totally agree Terry... I'd love to see the area become more of a haven for the Monarchs. They're such a unique creature. Thanks for the link!

ReplyWow, I love the dry goods in jars... I constantly deal with stacks of half-full rubber-banded plastic bags of beans and lentils. I'm totally stealing your idea. Thanks!

Del Ray is a town within the City of Alexandria. There are definitely suburbs in the larger Alexandria (like most of the communities outside the beltway)... but Del Ray does not really fit the burb mold.
