Spring for Alexandria Honors Giving, Service

Want to give back to your community but don’t know how? Here’s an easy way to lend a hand this week. Now in its sixth year, Spring for Alexandria offers multiple opportunities for residents to become involved in volunteer efforts. ACT for Alexandria, Volunteer Alexandria, the Alexandria Jaycees and the City of Alexandria are co-hosting the three-day celebration of giving and service throughout the city Thursday through Saturday. Events include the Generations of Giving Gala on Thursday; the Business Philanthropy Summit, Community Service Day and Market Square Party on Friday; and Alexandria Gives and “Lemonaide” Day on Saturday. Volunteer Alexandria to Hold Business Philanthropy Summit

The 15h Annual Business Philanthropy Summit will be May 3.

Volunteer Alexandria is holding its 15h Annual Business Philanthropy Summit on May 3. The event takes place from 7:30 to 9:30 a.m. at First Baptist Church, 2932 King St. The summit is sponsored by Capital One. The summit is a breakfast event that brings together businesses and nonprofit agencies to discuss community needs and celebrate local philanthropy. Channel 7 is a media sponsor, and Rebecca Cooper will be the emcee. Tickets can be purchased here. Prices are $35 for a one-person ticket and $125 for a nonprofit display table. Sponsorships are available starting at $500.
