Crescent-shaped pastries are a real treat
Sunday is National Croissant Day. This buttery, crescent-shaped roll made from leavened dough or puff pastry is now recognized as France’s national symbol. Croissants are sold in grocery stores, local bakeries and coffee shops. If you have not tried one, why not go and purchase one and celebrate National Croissant Day. Before I entered culinary school, my mother took me to Paris in 2001 to experience French cooking at its finest. Since I was getting ready to go to a French culinary school, what better place to go and experience French cuisine? That week of eating was wonderful.
