Metro is not performing any scheduled track work anywhere on the system Inauguration Weekend, but there are service advisories in effect. What's Up with the Metro: Sept. 28 to 30

A look at what you need to know about the Metro this weekend.

Taking the Metro to get around this weekend? Here’s what to expect. Hopefully you took advantage of the slight repreive last weekend, because there will be track work on every line this weekend, according to Metro's website: Red Line Red Line trains will single track between NoMa-Gallaudet U and Fort Totten stations to allow for platform reconstruction, tie and fastener renewal and DDOT bridge work. Throughout the weekend, Red Line trains will operate every 20 minutes between Shady Grove and Glenmont.  Between 9 a.m. and 9 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday, additional trains will operate between Shady Grove and NoMa-Gallaudet U stations, resulting in service about every 10 minutes between those stations.  Customers traveling on the eastern side …

What's Up With the Metro: Aug. 24-26

A look at what you need to know about Metro this weekend.

Taking the Metro to get around this weekend? Here’s what to expect. Blue, Green and Yellow line riders can rejoice: there is no track work scheduled on the three lines this weekend. Red Line Red Line trains will single track through two work zones: between Grosvenor and Medical Center to allow for upgrades to rail fasteners and third-rail insulators, and between Takoma and Forest Glen for platform reconstruction.  Throughout the weekend, Red Line trains will operate between Shady Grove and Grosvenor every 24 minutes in each direction. On Saturday and Sunday, between 9:30 a.m. and 6:30 p.m., additional trains will operate between Medical Center and NoMa-Gallaudet U stations, providing service an average of every 12 minutes between these …
