Harris Teeter on S. Glebe Remains Closed
Clogged sewage line caused grocery store to halt operations on Friday.
The Harris Teeter on S. Glebe Road remains closed Monday after a sewage backup caused flooding inside the grocery store. Shannon Whalen McDaniel of Arlington County’s Environmental Services Department said the suction line at the Potomac Yard lift station was “clogged with rags and debris” and that sewer operation issues were resolved by early Saturday morning. An automated phone message at the Harris Teeter store said the location will remain closed until further notice because of “circumstances beyond our control and relating to a problem at the Potomac Yard lift station and the Arlington County Water Pollution Control Plant on Friday, May 11.” A representative from Magnolia Plumbing, which responded to the issue at Harris Teeter, said …
