Vintage Jazz Band Heats Up Cool Fall Nights

The Not-So-Modern Jazz Quartet brings vintage-era jazz to new audiences at St. Elmo's

There's more than coffee taking the chill off nippy fall evenings at St. Elmo's Coffe Pub. Every Thursday, evening patrons at this local coffee shop not only enjoy a steaming cup-o-joe and assorted noshables, they also get a side of vintage-era jazz performed by The Not-So-Modern Jazz Quartet. Vintage-era jazz is a reference to the genre which predates the breathy bossa nova and Miles Davis' fusion-fueled riffs of the 1960s and 70s. Think lyrics laden with innocent acts of stolen kisses and moonlit walks complemented by the whisper of brushes on a snare drum and jaunty solos bleated out by saxophones and coronets.
