Sheriff's Office Names Bertsch as Spokeswoman

Amy Bertsch moves from the Office of Historic Alexandria to the Sheriff's Department. She also worked for 11 years as public information officer for the Alexandria Police Department.

Amy Bertsch has taken over as the new public information officer for the Alexandria Sheriff’s Office. “I’m excited to be able to go back into criminal justice,” she said. “I majored in Spanish and minored in criminology. After working at the Police Department, I cultivated an interest criminal justice and public safety. This is an excellent opportunity for me.” Bertsch previously worked at the Office of Historic Alexandria, but also worked for 11 years as the PIO for the Alexandria Police Department. “I worked with Amy when I was a detective at the Alexandria Police Department and she always impressed me with her many skills, talents and abilities," Sheriff Dana Lawhorne said.
