Del Ray Variety, a new store located at 203 E. Custis Ave., held its grand opening on Saturday morning. The event included games and activities for children, animal adoptions from the Animal Welfare League of Alexandria, and food from Del Ray Pizzeria, Caboose Bakery and Pork Barrel BBQ. U.S. Rep. Del Ray Variety to Hold Grand Opening March 30

New store on E. Custis Avenue will hold "preview week" beginning Friday.

Del Ray Variety, a new store located just off Mount Vernon Avenue at 203 E. Custis Ave., is holding its grand opening on March 30. • See: Del Ray Variety Aims for March Opening The event, which begins at 10 a.m., will feature a ribbon-cutting ceremony with city officials, face painting, giveaways and refreshments from Del Ray Pizzeria and Caboose Bakery. Del Ray Variety Aims for March Opening

New store on E. Custis Avenue to carry everything from kids toys to beauty products.

Del Ray Variety, a new shop that aims to put a modern twist on the old fashioned variety store, is aiming to open in March just off Mount Vernon Avenue. Store manager Roxann Patrick has been busy in recent weeks transforming the 4,000-square-foot space located next to Artifacts at 203 E. Custis Ave. Old Town-based auction and appraisal house Potomack Company recently used the property for a rug auction. The building previously housed Christian’s Community Center Church of Alexandria. Aiming to create “a fun, family-friendly experience for the whole Del Ray community,” Patrick plans on carrying a wide array of products at the store, including kids toys, arts and crafts, pet products, helium balloons, greeting cards, hardware and party …
