Elected officials participate in ribbon-cutting ceremony.
Del Ray Variety, a new store located at 203 E. Custis Ave., held its grand opening on Saturday morning. The event included games and activities for children, animal adoptions from the Animal Welfare League of Alexandria, and food from Del Ray Pizzeria, Caboose Bakery and Pork Barrel BBQ. U.S. Rep. New store on E. Custis Avenue to carry everything from kids toys to beauty products.
Del Ray Variety, a new shop that aims to put a modern twist on the old fashioned variety store, is aiming to open in March just off Mount Vernon Avenue. Store manager Roxann Patrick has been busy in recent weeks transforming the 4,000-square-foot space located next to Artifacts at 203 E. Custis Ave. Old Town-based auction and appraisal house Potomack Company recently used the property for a rug auction. The building previously housed Christian’s Community Center Church of Alexandria.
