Blue Ribbon Goes to the Bewitching Blueberry
Randee Hilton wins the Art on the Avenue Pie-Baking Contest for the second straight year.
Randee Hilton took top honors in the adult field of the Art on the Avenue Pie-Baking Contest for the second straight year Saturday, winning with her Bewitching Blueberry Sour Cream Pie. Hilton won in 2011 for her Radiant Raspberry Brown Butter Pie, leaving little doubt there’s a person in Alexandria who can do more with berries and crust. After the competition, slices of the 24 pies entered in the adult and kids competitions were sold for $3 a slice to raise money for Stop Child Abuse Now of Northern Virginia. Hilton donated her winnings back to SCAN. The event raised a total of $641 for the Alexandria-based nonprofit.
