Old Town Hosts St. Patrick's Day Parade
A dog show and classic car competition are on the agenda for Saturday morning; the parade kicks off at 12:30 p.m. at King and Alfred streets.
Alexandria and the Ballyshaners—that’s Gaelic for Old Towners—are hosting the 31st annual St. Patrick’s Day Parade on Saturday. The celebration of Irish-American heritage begins at 12:30 p.m. at King and Alfred streets. The parade will follow a route down King Street, past the Royal Street reviewing stand and end between King and Cameron streets. A classic car competition will start at 10 a.m. on North Pitt and King streets. A dog show begins at 10:30 a.m. in Market Square.
