All Alexandria library branches will be closed on Monday and Tuesday in observation of the Christmas holiday. All branches will be open 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on New Year's Eve, Dec. 31. They will be closed on Jan. 1 in observation of the New Year’s Day.

If you’ve missed an episode or two, or just want to watch shows for previous season for a second (or third) time, Beatley Central Library is holding a “Downton Abbey” marathon later this month. The British period drama, set in the fictional Yorkshire country estate of Downton Abbey, has attracted a large following in the United States and is preparing to air its third season on PBS in January.
