The Alexandria chapter of the Salvation Army, devoted to helping people in need regardless of race, culture, sex or age, sits on nearly a full block on Mount Vernon Avenue.
The campus, which also includes a social services center on Bellefonte Avenue, houses not only a Christian church, but the Alexandria School of Performing Arts and the Corps Community Center. The main building serves as a gathering place for a bevy of social, musical and educational activities all geared to supporting well-being.
