Pork Barrel BBQ is a barbecue restaurant serving ribs, pulled pork, brisket, sausage and chicken. Sandwiches and platter dishes are also available. The restaurant's interior features hand-laid stone walls and a one-of-a-kind beer tower.

Now that they've got the kinks out, it's a great place. I avoid the line by going to the bar and getting served there. I find both the employees and the customers to be really friendly - the latter is refreshing compared to how "clique-ish" the patrons of some of the other Del Ray bars can be (I'm a social guy and I like to talk to strangers). Between the nachos and the mac & cheese, I think I've put on about 10 lbs. since I started going there regularly.

Pretty much exactly what Lewis said. The different-line-for-beer thing is retarded too.

Because you know what I feel like doing after standing in line AND trying to score a place to sit? Go stand in another line while my food sits unattended! The place was set up by amateurs obviously.

Where were these other reviewers eating? Couldn't be the one in Del Ray! It's such fun - already a neighborhood gathering spot. Well, that's what's great about life - different opinions. As for me, I love the food, the atmosphere, the people, the staff -- why is it always the whiners who write reviews?!?

The BBQ is pretty darn good. Everything else about this place is lousy. Very, very limited menu, and half the time they run out of the few things that are on the menu, even when they aren't that busy. The self-serve format stinks, the communal tables stink (big for one group, but not big enough for two groups). The service is hit or miss, with a lot of missing. Rip out the booths and put in smaller tables, expand the menu and get some servers.

The food is OK, the concept is dreadful. Its basically a fast food court but more expensive. I hate the no plate thing, going with kids is a nightmare. We were really looking forward to it, but it was a one off for us.

My family really wanted to go back to Pork Barrel BBQ - we were there on opening night - where I was disappointed that they were serving a limited menu. I gave in to my family's requests, thinking I could get the salad with some chicken BBQ. I was very disappointed to learn that they still do not have the salad. Pork Barrel BBQ is an expensive fast food joint. I won't go back until the salad is on the menu - sorry.
