I don't get anything but the liver and onions. I agree with other reviewers, the pasta dishes are well under seasoned, but the liver, I get it every time I go there. Delicious. Its one of those dishes, you either love it or you don't. And I do.
For some reason, Monroe's thrives on bland food. They should take a lesson from their daughter (Mary) and pick up their menu using recipes from Del Marie Grill...... which was VERY GOOD!
Although, it's true the employees of Monroe's are very friendly...... the food is mediocre at best. Way under seasoned. I've stopped going there.
If you truly love authentic Italian food then Monroe's is the place to go and enjoy a truly savoring adventure as well as the pristine service from their professional and friendly staff.

Our family has been going to Monroe's since they opened over 15 years ago. We love the food, the owners, and the location. The entrees are always seasoned perfectly, and while the side veggies may seem "bland" to some, I find it refreshing to taste their flavor instead of lots of seasoning. The Monroes Bread and radicchio salad are superb. Brunch on Sundays is delicious, but get reservations well in advance on holidays (like Mother's Day).
