Head Start
703-684-3983
Located at the tail end of George Washington Middle School, this site is one of multiple locations of the Alexandria Head Start Program. Sponsored by the Campagna Center, Alexandria Head Start provides free, need-based early childhood education to qualifying families. The smiles on children's faces in the classrooms attest to the popularity Head Start has gained within the community. The program is limited to 270 children, and often has a waiting list. Children are taught by full-time teachers who have completed a four-year degree in education.
