Craft Fair, National Road Racing Championships and Ride with BPAC

Plus, Alexandria City Council and Titans football.

Some ideas for your weekend in (or involving) Alexandria:

Titans Football — You’ll have to drive down to Lorton Friday night to catch the T.C. Williams football team in its first playoff game in 22 years, where the Titans face the South County Stallions. Kickoff is at 7:30 p.m. The stadium is located at 8501 Silverbrook Rd, roughly a 25-minute, non-rush hour ride from T.C. Williams. City Council Public Hearing — Have an issue you’d like to bring before council? Head down to City Hall (301 King St.) at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 16 for a chance to ask a question or raise a point before city leadership. Before heading in, be sure to a grab a bite to eat outside at the Old Town Farmers Market. You can take a peek at the meeting’s docket on the city website.

Ride with BPAC — Alexandria’s Bicycle and Pedestrian Action Committee will begin its two-hour excursion of the city’s East End beginning at 10 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 16 at Spokes, Etc. (1545 N. Quaker Ln.). Bring yourself, a bicycle, water and a sense of adventure. More information available at BPAC’s event listing on meetup.com.

Craft Fair — The fourth annual Handmade Holiday Craft Fair runs from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday at T.C. Williams High School (3330 King St.). The free event will host more than 45 local handmade vendors, food sales, live music and more.

.US National Road Racing Championships — Welcoming runners of all abilities, the 2013 .US National Road Racing Championships will get underway at 7 a.m. Sunday, Nov. 17. The event features a 12 km championship race, 12 km masters championship race, 12 km community race, Nationwide Insurance 5 km family fun run and a half-mile kids run. The racecourse runs through Old Town, Del Ray and Potomac Yard. Head on down to watch some of the country’s elite runners. If you’re in your car, expect plenty of road closures throughout the morning.
