Alexandria Band Fuse Box Up for 'Fan Favorite' Award This Weekend

You have until 12 noon Wednesday to vote for them.

You have until 12 noon today to vote for a local band that's up for the Fan's Favorite Award at the Washington Area Music Awards (WAMMIEs) this weekend.

Fuse Box is an Alexandria band made up of teens from T.C. Williams and St. Stephen's and St. Agnes. The five boys are: Kent Jenkins (lead vocals, drums), Ian Lloyd (lead guitar, vocals), Luis Milburn (guitar, vocals), Augustus Koch (bass) and Perry Conner (keyboards, percussion).

You can cast your vote here by going to the Fan's Favorite Award.

The boys are in their mid-teens and are already accomplished musicians and veterans of the DC-area club scene; they play powerhouse rock ‘n’ roll and pack in crowds, who range from ‘tweens to Baby Boomers.

Their musical heroes include Led Zeppelin, Jimi Hendrix and AC/DC. They can pump up 50-year-olds with a Lynyrd Skynyrd cover and get teens moving with their contagious original songs.

They cut their teeth as musicians in clubs like Moe’s Peyton Place - a Springfield, Virginia hangout - and Tim’s Rivershore - a Potomac River bar and marina – and have branched out to venues such as Baltimore’s legendary rock club Ram’s Head Live! and Virtue Feed & Grain on the Old Town Alexandria waterfront.
