Hitchcock at Duncan Library, Cinema Del Ray and Bratwurst Day

Plus, free yoga and the Alexandria Commission on Women.

I can't promise you a happy Monday, but I can offer you 5 Things to consider this week in the Del Ray area.

Without further ado:

Hitchcock at Duncan — The Friends of Duncan Library will present a free screening of a film from Alfred Hitchcock at 6:30 p.m. Thursday at Duncan Branch (2501 Commonwealth Ave.) After the show, St. Elmo’s Coffee Pub (2300 Mount Vernon Ave.) will host a discussion of the movie.

Commission on Women — The Alexandria Commission for Women, whose members provide advice and consultation to City Council on issues concerning women, meets at 8:15 a.m. Tuesday at Swing’s Coffee (501 E. Monroe Ave.).

National Bratwurst Day — The finest of all the encased meats is honored with a holiday on Friday. As a Wisconsin alum, I must recommend boiling them in beer before grilling. And don’t forget the sour kraut!
