A September to Remember- Beatley Central's Fall Festival

Kicking off the autumn season, Beatley Central Library devotes a weekend to fun, vibrant activities for all ages on Saturday and Sunday, September 21 and 22. Offering art, games, performances and more, the Library packs bushels of events that will make you fall for autumn. The festival is brought to the community by the generous support of the Friends of Beatley Central Library.

LIL’ PALS PET PORTRAITS
10:00 AM - 4:00 PM
Create a beautiful, lasting memory of your furry family member.  Registration is required at the Information Desk.  A $10 sitting fee is required at time of registration, which will benefit the Friends of Beatley Central Library (Portrait sessions will take place in a climate-controlled mobile studio located in the parking lot).

BOOK SWAP 
10:00 AM - 5:00 PM
Do you have a lot of books piling up, but you just don’t want to give them away?  For every book you bring you can take one home to keep (Small Conference Room). 

FACE PAINTING 
11:00 AM - 4:00 PM
Erica Exline of Sweet Cheeks and Ivonne Salazer of Heavenly Face Designs will be on hand for amazing face painting creations (Children’s Department).

THE ROYAL SCOTTISH COUNTRY DANCE SOCIETY OF GREATER D.C. 
11:00 - 11:45 AM
The Royal Scottish Country Dance Society of Greater D.C. will perform to the driving strains of reels, jigs and strathspeys (Large Meeting Room).

STEEL PAN JAM
11:00 AM - 1:00 PM
Join us for a lively steel drum performance by Ronald Emrit of Steel Pan Jam (Outside Walkway/Foyer Area).

CUPCAKE WALK
12:00 - 1:00 PM
Join the fun at our first ever Cupcake Walk!   Win sweet prizes in this musical game for adults and children (Large Meeting Room). 

MARK THE FOOL
1:30 - 3:00 PM
Mark, the strolling “fool”, will delight kids and adults alike with his juggling, plate spinning and rolling globe.  His high energy performance will include audience participation (Large Meeting Room).

MIGUELLOON THE BALLOON ARTIST
2:00 - 4:00 PM
Balloon Artist, Migeulloon, will make fanciful balloon creations (Children’s Department).

WATER HARP PERFORMANCE
2:00 - 4:00 PM
Alexandria City icon and water harpist extraordinaire, Jamey Turner, will be performing in the Reading Garden.

THE NOVA ALEXANDRIA JAZZ ENSEMBLE
4:00 - 4:45 PM
A 20+ member group performs classic and original big band works from the 1930s and beyond (Large Meeting Room).
