Titans Shutout Lancers

T.C. Williams records 14 quarterback sacks in road win over Lee.

Sam Deen threw three touchdowns and the T.C. Williams varsity football team recorded 14 quarterback sacks in a 32-0 win over Lee on Friday night in Springfield, according to MaxPreps.com.

Deen, a junior, completed 12 of 19 passes for 182 yards in the victory. Senior wideout Philip Tyler proved to be Deen’s top target, hauling in five passes for 85 yards and two touchdowns. Junior Terry Jordan also hauled in a touchdown pass for the Titans (5-2, 3-1 Patriot District).

Senior Malik Carney led the way defensively for the Titans with 14 tackles, including three of the Titans’ 14 sacks. On the offensive side of things, Carney rushed for 52 yards and a touchdown on eight carries.

The Lancers fell to 2-5 and 2-2 in the Patriot District in the loss.

For its next game, T.C. Williams hosts undefeated Lake Braddock at 3 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 26. The Bruins (7-0, 4-0 Patriot District) are ranked No. 4 in The Washington Post’s area football rankings.
