Titans Close Season with 41-27 Loss to West Potomac

T.C. Williams finishes season with 3-7 record.

The football team ended its season with a loss Saturday, falling 41-27 to at Parker-Gray Stadium, according to The Washington Post.

The Titans closed the 2011 season with a two-game skid for a 3-7 overall record and a 2-5 mark in the Patriot District.

T.C. Williams hung with West Potomac (which clinched a share of the district title with the win) for much of the first half. The Titans took a 10-7 lead in the second quarter and trailed just 14-10 at halftime.

But the Titans could not slow West Potomac playmaker Demornay Pierson-El, who caught five passes for 168 yards and three touchdowns. Pierson-El also returned a third-quarter kickoff 99 yards for another score.

Titans quarterback Alec Grosser threw for two second-half touchdowns in the loss, one on an 18-yard completion to Landon Moss and another on an 82-yard toss to Percy Haskins.

Senior tailback Za'Quan Summers also rushed for a score for the Titans. Senior kicker Manuel Benites connected on field goals of 28 and 29 yards to round out the scoring for T.C. Williams.
