T.C. Williams Runs Away with Four Titles at City Cross Country Championship

Titans win boys and girls races in varsity and junior varsity fields.

T.C. Williams took top honors in all four team competitions at the Alexandria City Cross Country Championship, held Oct. 6 at Episcopal High School.

T.C. Williams bested Bishop Ireton, Episcopal and St. Stephen’s-St. Agnes in the boys and girls varsity races as well as the boys and girls junior varsity races.

According to T.C. Williams coach Michael Hughes, the race marked the first time since 1995 that the Titans took all four team titles at the Alexandria meet.

Bishop Ireton’s Liam O’Connor took top individual honors in the boys varsity competition. T.C. Williams’ Sydney Schaedel placed first in the girls varsity race. Nicolas Ahumada and Hannah Smythe, both from T.C. Williams, finished first in the boys and girls junior varsity races, respectively.
