T.C. Williams Girls Advance to Regional Championship

Two T.C. Williams boys runners advance as individuals.

The cross country team was up against some of the best runners in the state in one of the most competitive districts in the region on Wednesday at the Patriot District championships at Burke Lake Park.

In the girls race, the Titans finished strong with two individual medal winners—Sydney Schaedel (fifth place) and Shannon Smythe (sixth place)—and a fourth-place finish overall in the team standings.

The result sent the T.C. Williams girls team to the Northern Region championship for the fourth straight years. This year’s region championship meet will be held Nov. 3.
