"Baskets for Books" Fun-raiser

A low-key, basketball themed FUN-raiser to support the Book Drive for Summer Reading, co-sponsored by The Giving Circle of Alexandria, Wright to Read and Hooray for Books. The Book Drive aims to provide 1,200 Alexandria public school children grades pre-K through 6th with two new and one like-new book to enjoy over summer.
 
At Baskets for Books, children of all ages can shoot baskets and play various games with basketballs as a fun day out. Parents are asked to make a donation of their choice. 

Come for 2 hrs or just 15 minutes!  Make 100 baskets or none at all!  The point is to have a good time for a good cause.  There is no admission charge – you can bring a cash or check donation (payable to ACT/The Giving Circle of Alexandria) of any amount or donate some gently used books. Shop at Hooray for Books, 1555 King Street, for new books that they recommend for the summer book drive.
