Alexandria Aces Seek Host Families for 2014 Season

The new season for the Alexandria Aces begins in June 2014.

The Alexandria Aces are seeking host families for the upcoming 2014 season.

Thirty-five college players from around the country will join the Aces next summer. From early June to early August, the team will play 40 games in about 60 days in the Cal Ripken Collegiate Baseball League, a wooden bat league that allows college players to get a sense of the schedule of professional baseball. The Cal Ripken League is composed of teams all within the Washington DC-Baltimore area.

The Aces, which came off a 27-17 regular season and a berth in the playoffs in 2013, play their home games at Frank E. Mann Field in Four Mile Run Park.

Host families are asked to provide a bed and access to a washer and dryer. The Aces will take care of everything else.

Those who would like to volunteer as host families should contact Dave Cheney at 703-370-2882.
