Time Running Out For CPC School Supply Drive

Supplies will go to in-need students in Alexandria City Public Schools

Alexandria nonprofit Community Partners for Children is in the stretch run of its 20th annual back-to-school supply drive.

The organization is asking citizens to donate school supplies for students of all ages—from crayons to wide-ruled notebook paper—at drop-off locations in businesses, churches and many other places throughout the city. All collected supplies will be distributed to in-need students at Alexandria City Public Schools.

“CPC depends on the generosity of the Alexandria community to help us ensure all Alexandria kids are ready for school,” CPC Board President Pat Miller said in a statement. “This drive helps kids who, through no fault of their own, can't get the school supplies they need. CPC tries to make it possible for any student qualifying for free or reduced-price school meals to have the basic tools many take for granted in order to start the school year right.”
