The 80-member Marching Titans, directed by Carlos Gonzalez, left Alexandria on Dec. 29 for their trip. Along with the Sugar Bowl experience, the band has received opportunities to learn from nationally renowned adjudicators and explore the city that gave birth to jazz.

The Sugar Bowl, which features No. 3 Alabama and No. 11 Oklahoma, will be televised on ESPN beginning at 8:30 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 2.
