Sherman to Discuss New MVCS Principal Candidate

Alexandria City Public Schools superintendent plans to visit Tuesday evening to discuss new principal candidate Peter Balas.
Balas is currently the executive assistant principal for curriculum and instruction at .
In a letter that went home with Mount Vernon pupils, Sherman wrote: “With the … we have the opportunity and responsibility to get started this spring on planning for this coming school year,” adding that Balas is a “rising star.”

Sherman added that ACPS has asked Mark Eisenhour to consider joining MVCS as principal-on-assigment, working between and MVCS. Eisenhour is currently the academic principal for Pathway to Graduation and for the International Academy at T.C. Williams.
Sherman will attend a parent meeting Tuesday night at 7 p.m. and there will be a parent meet-and-greet with Balas on Wednesday morning, 7:45 a.m. to 9 a.m.
