Alexandria Country Day School Kicks Off 30th Birthday Celebration

Private school has grown from 56 to 218 students.

Alexandria Country Day School on Russell Road kicked off its yearlong celebration of its 30th anniversary on Thursday, the 30th day of the 2012-13 school year.

To kickoff the birthday festivities, the ACDS Bobcat mascot blew out birthday candles with the help of the school’s kindergarten class. Scott Baytosh, head of school, shared stories of the school’s history with students as well as some fun facts and events that occurred in 1983, the year the school was founded.

The school got its start when a group of parents came together to found a school “dedicated to nurturing and enriching the lives of its children,” according to a press release.
