Work to Begin Soon on Del Ray Avenue Park
The play area at the park will remain open during construction of new pathways.
The City of Alexandria will start work soon on a local park. Del Ray Avenue Park, located at 1 East Del Ray Ave., will be under construction for about two weeks starting Monday, according to a news release from the city.
The on-site work will include installing new pathways and a labyrinth area, which represent part of the approved park plan. The city plans to plant new trees at the park in the fall, noting that planting conditions are more favorable at that time.
The play area at the park will remain open throughout the construction. Weather permitting, construction will conclude in two weeks.

The park project is funded with contributions from the Del Ray Citizens Association in partnership with the City of Alexandria.
