Krupicka Campaign To Host Telephone Town Hall

Discussion to focus on transportation and the environment

A major theme of Rob Krupicka’s campaign for state senate in the 30th district is a promise to take ideas from the community to the statehouse in Richmond. In an effort to show he means it, the Alexandria city councilman’s campaign is holding a conference call for the entire district.

The Krupicka campaign announced last week that it will host a telephone town hall meeting on May 12. Residents of the 30th district can signup to participate in the free call, which is scheduled for 7:30 p.m.

The focus will be on transportation and environmental stewardship. Krupicka will discuss BRAC issues as well as his plans increase mass-transit options to get more cars off the roads.

“As a member of this community, I understand people’s frustration with how disconnected Richmond can be to their everyday needs,” Krupicka said in a statement. “This town hall is an opportunity to hear from the people who are most directly affected by these issues, and as senator, I plan to continue to use this as a forum to better serve my constituents.”

Last week, Krupicka received the endorsements of former Alexandria City Council members Tim Lovain, Justin Wilson, Ludwig Gaines and Lonnie Rich, as well as former state delegate David Speck.

Krupicka is running against longtime Arlington school board member Libby Garvey and Del. Adam Ebbin (49th District) in the Democratic primary, set for Aug. 23.

Currently there are no Republicans running for the seat.
