Krupicka Campaign Schedules Second Town Hall

Telephone meeting to focus on education

The Rob Krupicka campaign for state senate announced Tuesday it will hold a second telephone town hall meeting on June 15.

Last Thursday’s call, which focused on regional transportation issues, drew more than 1,800 participants from the 30th district.

“Too often people feel like their representatives in Richmond turn a deaf ear to their concerns. I know that our government works best when more people take part in it,” Krupicka said in a statement. “These town halls are a very simple concept that gets at the heart of how we move forward and raise the level of debate in Richmond: We get more people involved.”

Tabbed as a “New Ideas Move Us Forward” Telephone Town Hall, the June 15 call will focus on Krupicka’s plans to make Virginia “the best state in the country to get an education.” Interested participants can sign up through Krupicka's campaign website.

A member of the Alexandria City Council since 2003, Krupicka was appointed to the Virginia Board of Education in 2009.

Krupicka recently wrote an entry on his blog detailing his belief that science and math education should start earlier in school.

Krupicka is running against Del. Adam Ebbin (49th District) and Arlington school board member Libby Garvey in the Democratic primary set for Aug. 23.
