City Academy Educates Residents About Alexandria

The City of Alexandria offers a special academy designed to educate residents about how the city works and more.

Alexandria’s City Academy is accepting applications for its fall session.

The nine-week program, which previously was called Citizens Academy, begins Sept. 12. The deadline to apply is Aug. 16 by 5 p.m.

The city offers the program to provide residents with an opportunity to gain exposure and learn about city government through first-hand experiences with a wide range of government functions, services, activities and issues.

Class size is limited to approximately 20 students and space fills up quickly, according to a city news release. To request an application, visit alexandriava.gov/CityAcademy, call 703-746-4317 to have one faxed to you, or pick up a copy at City Hall, 301 King St., Room 1900.
