Alexandria Relaxing Storm Debris Removal Requirements

City's trash collection and recycling services on delayed schedule following Hurricane Sandy.

Alexandria is relaxing some of its requirements for the removal of tree debris until Nov. 13 following Hurricane Sandy.

City crews will be collecting tree debris from the curb and public rights-of-way over the next week. Residents are asked to place debris on the curb in pieces that can be safely handled and to stay away from any tree limbs leaning on power lines.

Downed wires should be reported to Dominion Virginia Power by dialing 1-866-366-4357.

Leaf collection services will resume Monday. Bags will be collected at the front curb one business day after the regular refuse collection day.
