Police Seeking Suspect in Winterthur Death

Bharat Patel found dead after possible fight on Saturday; Police now have a sketch of potential suspect.

Fairfax County Police detectives have released a composite sketch and Wanted Poster of a suspect in the suspicious death case of Bharat Patel,

The suspect is described as an Indian male, 25-35 years old; approximately 5 feet 5 inches tall with a thin build. The suspect was wearing a gray long-sleeve shirt with a thin orange stripe down the sleeves and blue jeans.

Police are investigating the death of Patel, 40, who was found with trauma to his upper body about 2 a.m. on Saturday.

Officers originally responded to the 11900 block of Winterthur Lane for a reported fight about 12:45 a.m.

The officers did not find any fight.

Approximately one hour later a missing person report was made at Hunter Woods Plaza. An investigation lead the officers back to Winterthur Lane, where a body was found with trauma to the upper body.

The deceased has been identified as  Patel, of 11913 Winterthur Ln. The cause and manner of death are not yet available.

No, but I wasn't aware that we all had to follow the "party line" and think the same way. Otherwise, why bother with comments at all.

El, I don't get your continued comments about how bad the crime is in Reston. Do you have any statistics to back up your concerns? Or locations that you think are especially dangerous? I've lived here most of my life, in four locations around Reston. My previous home was 300 yds from where this incident occurred. In none of those locations have I been concerned about walking outside at night. There will always be incidents of crime - even among the most protected gated communities. But in what way has crime in Reston become a particular concern of yours? Do you think the Fairfax County Police are failing in some manner? Is there some area that needs special attention? I just don't see it.
