Alexandria police are asking the public’s help in locating an Alexandria man wanted for attempted rape of a juvenile and animate object sexual penetration.

The evening of Wednesday, Dec. 11, an adult witness caught Alfaro Estanislao sexually assaulting an 11-year-old female inside a residence in the 3900 block of Mount Vernon Avenue.

Police said the suspect is not related to the victim but is known to the victim’s family.

Estanislao fled the scene before officers arrived. Police said the 60-year-old city resident is known to frequent the Arlandria area. He is described as 5-foot-4, 150 pounds with brown eyes and salt-and-pepper hair.

Police spokesperson Crystal Nosal urged residents to use caution and contact police if they encounter Estanislao.

“Anybody who could attack child I would consider dangerous,” Nosal said.

Anyone with information about Estanislao is urged to call the Alexandria police at 703-746-6711 or 703-746-6623. Callers may remain anonymous.
