Police Reports: Victim Chases Thief from House

The Alexandria Police Department reported the following crimes in the Del Ray-Rosemont-Arlandria area of Alexandria.

Note: The addresses listed below indicate blocks and not specific addresses of incidents. Where an arrest is mentioned, it does not necessarily indicate a conviction.

May 8 — A breaking-and-entering incident was reported at 6:42 a.m. in the 2500 block of Leslie Avenue.

May 7 — A residence in the 200 block of Clifford Avenue was entered by breaking glass on the front door and unlocking it. Nothing was taken and the interior was not ransacked. The incident was reported at 1:13 p.m.

May 7 — At 12:18 p.m., an unknown subject reportedly entered a victim’s residence and stole cash from a victim’s wallet. The victim awoke with the subject in the residence and chased the subject from the house.  

May 7 — At 10:11 a.m., a victim reported her vehicle parked in the 1700 block of Price Street was entered by unknown means and her belongings were rifled through, but nothing was stolen.

May 7 — An arrest was made for drunk in public, resisting arrest and assaulting a police officer at 1:56 a.m. in the 3900 block of Bruce Street.

May 7 — An arrest was made for vandalism at 12:01 a.m. in the 3900 block of Bruce Street.

May 6 — An arrest was made for theft offenses at 9:37 p.m. in the 3700 block of Jefferson Davis Highway.

May 6 — An arrest was made for shoplifting at 4:39 p.m. in the 3800 block of Jefferson Davis Highway.

May 6 — A destruction of property offense was reported at 1:47 p.m. in the 1600 block of Mount Vernon Avenue.

May 6 — A victim reported at 1:11 a.m. unknown suspects knocked down two “No Trespassing” signs on her fence surrounding her property in the 300 block of E. Bellefonte Avenue.

May 5 — An arrest was made for vandalism at 10:13 a.m. at the corner of Mount Vernon and Reed avenues.

May 5 — A vehicle parked in the 200 block of Tennessee Avenue was reported stolen at 11:17 a.m.

May 5 — An arrest was made at 5:25 a.m. in an assault between two people who were known to each other that occurred in the 3400 block of Jefferson Davis Highway.

May 5 — An arrest was made for trespassing at 12:45 a.m. at the corner of Russell and Glebe roads.  

May 4 — An arrest was made for a series of theft from vehicles at 3:59 p.m. in the 2900 block of Hickory Street.

May 4 — The driver’s-side door window of a vehicle parked in the 300 block of W. Braddock Road was reported broken at 10:30 a.m.

May 4 — A learner’s permit and school ID were reported stolen at 7:38 a.m. from a victim’s vehicle parked on Kennedy Street. 

May 4 — A suspect was arrested for carrying an open container of alcohol at 3:01 a.m. in the 3400 block of Mount Vernon Avenue.

May 3 — An arrest was made for felonious assault for an incident that occurred at 5:44 p.m. in the 500 block of Four Mile Road.

May 3 — An incident of vandalism was reported at 5:22 p.m. in the 3700 block of Mount Vernon Avenue.

May 3 — A bicycle that was secured to a stop sign was reported stolen at 2:39 p.m. in the 400 block of E. Monroe Avenue.

May 3 — At 1:49 p.m., a victim reported a UPS-delivered package was stolen from the porch of their home in the 100 block of E. Oxford Avenue.

May 3 — At 12:59 p.m., a victim reported an unknown suspect or suspects put two cracks in the windows of a store in the 3300 block of Jefferson Davis Highway.   

May 2 — A victim reported at 8:09 a.m. his business in the 400 block of E. Glebe Road had been entered through an unlocked window and an iMac had been stolen.  

May 1 — A suspect was arrested for carrying an open container of alcohol at 10:57 p.m. in the 500 block of Four Mile Road.

May 1 — A flat-screen TV, coins and two watches were stolen in a breaking-and-entering incident that was reported at 7:59 p.m. in the 200 block of Evans Lane. An unknown suspect or suspects entered the residence by breaking glass on the front door.

May 1 — At 4:48 p.m., a victim reported coins were stolen from her unlocked vehicle parked in her driveway in the 1800 block of Cliff Street.

May 1 — A theft was reported at 2:32 p.m. in the 200 block of Luna Park Drive.

May 1 — A victim reported at 12:44 p.m. that his motorcycle was stolen from his garage in the 100 block of Luna Park Drive.
