Police Reports: Thefts, Property Crimes in the Del Ray Area

Note: The addresses listed below indicates blocks and not specific addresses of incidents. Where an arrest is mentioned, it does not necessarily indicate a conviction.

Feb. 16 — A suspect was arrested for being drunk in public at 6:42 p.m. in the 4100 block of Mount Vernon Avenue.

Feb. 14 — A suspect was arrested for being drunk in public at 6:37 p.m. in Four Mile Run Park.

Feb. 13 — At 5:01 p.m., a victim in the 100 block of E. Glendale Avenue reported an unknown suspect or suspects set fire to her recycling bin and smashed the cable box cover at her residence.

Feb. 13 — A victim in the 3500 block of Wilson Avenue reported that their identity had been stolen and used for fraudulent activity.  

Feb. 13 — A victim reported at 2 p.m. that an unknown suspect or suspects keyed the entire driver’s side and the tailgate of her vehicle in the 100 block of Evans Lane.

Feb. 12 — A theft from a vehicle was reported at 9:36 p.m. in the 500 block of Virginia Avenue.

Feb. 12 — An assault occurred between two people who were known to each other in the 800 block of Russell Road at 9:36 p.m.

Feb. 12 — A theft from a vehicle was reported at 2:56 p.m. in the 2500 block of Commonwealth Avenue.

Feb. 12 — Victims in the 2700 block of Sycamore Street reported at 11:45 a.m. unknown suspects or suspects tampered with their vehicles by prying the driver’s side door windows. Nothing was taken.

Feb. 12 — At 10:21 a.m., a victim reported an unknown suspect or suspects stole his vehicle while it was parked near his home in the 200 block of W. Mount Ida Avenue. The vehicle was later found in Fairfax County.

Feb. 11 — At 1:55 p.m., a victim reported an unknown suspect stole a USPS-delivered package left on the victim’s front porch in the 100 block of E. Maple Drive.

Feb. 11 — A suspect was arrested for carrying an open container of alcohol at 1:29 p.m. in the 3200 block of Mount Vernon Avenue.

Feb. 11 — A theft from a vehicle was reported at 11:34 a.m. in the 500 block of Lloyds Lane.

Feb. 11 — A theft was reported at 10:14 a.m. in the 300 block of Lloyds lane.

Feb. 11 — A theft from a vehicle was reported at 10:09 a.m. in the 600 block of E. Timber Branch Parkway.

Feb. 10 — A suspect was arrested for being drunk in public at 3:52 a.m. in the 100 block of W. Glebe Road.

Feb. 10 — At 7:52 a.m., a victim reported that an unknown suspect or suspects smashed the rear driver's side quarter panel window of his vehicle parked in front of his residence in the 3800 block of Russell Road.
