Police Reports: Robberies, Stolen Tires and Sump Pumps in the Del Ray Area

The Alexandria Police Department reported the following crimes in the Del Ray, Rosemont and Arlandria areas of Alexandria.

Note: The addresses listed below indicate blocks and not specific addresses of incidents.

Aug. 3

9:25 a.m. — A breaking-and-entering incident was reported in the 3800 block of Mount Vernon Avenue.

Aug. 1

3:36 p.m. — A theft was reported in the 800 block of Four Mile Road.

10:25 a.m. — An armed robbery and sexual assault were reported in the unit block of E. Myrtle Avenue. For more information about this incident, see: Victim in Myrtle Street Robbery Also Sexually Assaulted.

July 31

3:12 p.m. — An assault was reported in the 3900 block of Mount Vernon Avenue.

2:30 p.m. — A breaking-and-entering incident was reported in the 2400 block of King Street.

July 30

11:45 p.m. — An arrest was made for theft in the 300 block of Calvert Avenue.

11:11 p.m. — An arrest was made for motor vehicle theft and destruction of property in the 100 block of Luna Park Drive.

10:12 p.m. — A suspect was arrested and charged with possession of marijuana in the 3800 block of Old Dominion Boulevard.

1:15 p.m. — Two sump pumps were reported stolen from a driveway in the 400 block of E. Monroe Avenue. The victim left them out for a friend to pick them up. The friend never picked the pumps up and they were gone when the victim returned home.

12:39 p.m. — A victim reported leaving an iPhone in the restroom at the movie theater at Potomac Yard Shopping Center. When he returned to retrieve it, the phone was gone.

10:39 a.m. — A cell phone that was left unattended was reported stolen from Cora Kelly School in the 3600 block of Commonwealth Avenue.

July 29

12:49 p.m. — A victim reported being assaulted by an unknown person in the 1400 block of Mount Vernon Avenue. The victim had his walker thrown at him.

8:05 a.m. — An armed robbery was reported in the 200 block of Leslie Avenue. For more information on this incident, see: Del Ray Resident Robbed at Gunpoint

5:24 a.m. — The locks and doors to a restaurant in the 2700 block of Jefferson Davis Highway were reported broken, but nothing was stolen.

July 28

9:39 p.m. — An assault was reported in the 3900 block of Old Dominion Boulevard.

3:13 p.m. — The sunroof of a vehicle parked in the 100 block of Luna Park Drive was slashed and cash and a pair of ear buds were reported stolen.

4:47 a.m. — A resident in the 100 block of Luna Park Drive reported receiving persistent threatening and annoying phone calls.

July 27

10:03 p.m. — A suspect was arrested for suspicious of public drunkenness in the 400 block of Monroe Avenue. 

10 p.m. — All four tires and wheels were reported stolen from a vehicle parked in a garage in the 100 block of Luna Park Drive.

2:10 p.m. — A tote bag containing medication and documents was reported stolen from a home in the 200 block of E. Oak Street.   

2:01 a.m. — An arrest was made for driving under the influence at the corner of Beverley Drive and Russell Road.
