Police Reports: Burglaries, Property Crimes

The Alexandria Police Department reported the following crimes in the Del Ray-Rosemont-Arlandria area of Alexandria.

Note: The addresses listed below indicate blocks and not specific addresses of incidents. Where an arrest is mentioned, it does not necessarily indicate a conviction.

May 15 — An arrest was made for disorderly conduct at 10:05 p.m. in the 3900 block of Mount Vernon Avenue.

May 15 — An arrest was made for driving under the influence at 1:45 a.m. at the corner of Jefferson Davis Highway and E. Reed Avenue.

May 14 — A theft was reported at 6:24 p.m. in the 500 block of Commonwealth Avenue.

May 14 — A hit-and-run incident involving property damage was reported at 1:52 p.m. in the 2100 block of Mount Vernon Avenue.

May 14 — A vandalism offense was reported at 11:19 a.m. in the 3200 block of Landover Street.

May 14 — A property crime was reported at 6:31 a.m. in the 3600 block of Commonwealth Avenue.

May 14 — A sudden death was reported at 4:47 a.m. in the 100 block of E. Reed Avenue. Due to the sensitive nature of the case, a narrative is not available.

May 14 — An assault was reported at 1:47 a.m. in the 3800 block of Jefferson Davis Highway.

May 13 — A fraud offense was reported at 4:44 p.m. in the 400 block of Laverne Avenue.

May 13 — A tampering with an automobile offense was reported at 1:16 p.m. in the 1700 block of Price Street.

May 13 — A theft was reported at 12:43 p.m. in the 200 block of E. Glendale Avenue.

May 12 — A theft was reported at 8:19 p.m. in the 3800 block of Russell Road.

May 12 — An assault involving two people who were known to each other was reported at 6:45 p.m. in the 200 block of Wesmond Drive.

May 12 — At 3:19 p.m., three employees of the Regal Potomac Yard Cinema located in the 3500 block of Jefferson Davis Highway reported having items stolen from their purses left unattended in the breakroom. 

May 12 — A sudden death that was reported at 12:41 p.m. in the first block of W. Masonic View Avenue is currently under investigation. Due to the sensitive nature of the case, a narrative is not available.

May 12 — A suspect was arrested for being drunk in public in the 3800 block of Executive Avenue.

May 11 — Two scooters, a child's bicycle and a child's bicycle helmet left unattended on the side of a residence on Ancell Street were reported stolen at 6:43 p.m.

May 11 — A shoplifting offense was reported at 2:59 p.m. in the 3400 block of Mount Vernon Avenue.

May 11 — An arrest was made for public drunkenness at 12:34 a.m. in the 3900 block of Executive Avenue.

May 10 — An arrest was made for possession of marijuana at 2 a.m. at the corner of Mount Vernon and Executive avenues.

May 9 — A fraud offense was reported at 6:42 p.m. in the 3400 block of Jefferson Davis Avenue.

May 9 — At 3:08 p.m., a victim reported all four tires on her vehicle were punctured while it was parked in the 300 block of N Westminster Street.

May 9 — A camera, MP3 player and coins were reported stolen at 11:05 a.m. from a vehicle parked in a driveway in the 100 block of E. Spring Street.

May 8 — A suspect was arrested for being drunk in public at 10:48 p.m. in the 2000 block of Mount Vernon Avenue.  

May 8 — An office in the 2200 block of Mount Vernon Avenue was entered by unknown means and a laptop and a bottle of Adderall were reported stolen at 11:11 a.m.  

May 8 — A Samsung TV and a Kindle were reported stolen at 6:42 a.m. from a home in the 2500 block of Leslie Avenue. The suspect or suspects broke a rear basement window to enter the house.
