Walked over but police would not give details other than "no shots." So I'll look to Patch to find out what didn't happen.

I've been checking with the police, but they don't have anything to share yet.

Failure to provide information relative to most crimes is a consistent problem with the APD. While overall I think they do a very good job, they need to more adequately inform the citizens of Alexandria. For example, in yesterday's crime report in the Post, they listed 17 assaults. In all but one, the only information they provided was the street, block, date, time and offense. All they chose to tell us was that "an assault occurred" and if an arrest was made. Contrast that with the Arlington report on the same page which provides far more information. In order to be more aware of what is happening in our neighborhoods, I for one would like to see for example, was it an armed robbery or was a weapon used in an assault. Is there a description of the suspects. Just my view. Thanks.
