Pedestrian Killed in Key Drive Crash

Driver strikes Suzanne Kominski, 92, while pulling out of driveway, according to Alexandria police.

Alexandria police are investigating a fatal pedestrian crash that occurred Sunday, Nov. 10 in the 1200 block of Key Drive.

According to a police media release, a driver pulling out of a driveway struck 92-year-old Suzanne Kominski as she was walking with her husband around 3:30 p.m. 

Kominski, a city resident, was transported by ground to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries. She was pronounced dead at the hospital at approximately 7:40 p.m.

Police say the driver remained on the scene. 

The Alexandria Police Department’s Crash Reconstruction Team is conducting an investigation into the incident.

Key Drive is located off Quaker Lane just south of T.C. Williams High School and Chinquapin Park.
