Alexandria Police Officer Peter Laboy continues to make progress recovering from gunshot wounds.
His wife Suzi Laboy wrote in an online journal this week that Peter was able to come home for the day.
“He came home and we had a great day. The kids were so excited to see him as he sat on the couch and watched golf. He now realizes we are in Washington DC," she wrote. "He had a good piece of steak for dinner, thanks to Tammy. It's the most I have seen him eat in 6 weeks. Thanks to Victor and Brian for getting him home and taking him back. It won't be long he will be home for good.”
On Tuesday, she wrote she was saddened to see so many others suffering with loss. “It brings me back to the here and now,” she wrote.
While Officer Laboy continues his recovery, the Capital Area Law Enforcement Foundation will be hosting a fundraiser April 21 from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Top Golf located at 6625 S. Van Dorn St. in Alexandria.
All proceeds will be given to the Alexandria Police Department to donate to the Laboy family.
For questions regarding the event please contact Sergeant Tara May at Tara.May@alexandriava.gov. For questions regarding in-kind donations please contact the Capital Area Law Enforcement Foundation at firstname.lastname@example.org.
