June 16 - An assault was reported in the 1300 block of Madison St. at 1:41 a.m. The case is pending.

June 15 - An assault was reported in the 100 block of King St. at 10:10 p.m. The case is pending.

June 15 - A theft was reported in the 400 block of S. Washington St. at 6:41 p.m. The case is pending.

June 14 - An arrest was made for assault in the 800 block of Madison St. at 1:11 p.m. 

June 13 - A vehicle was reported stolen in the 400 block of S. Alfred St. at 7:16 p.m.  The case is pending.

June 13 - Theft of property from a vehicle was reported in the 600 block of S. Lee St. at 6:59 a.m. The case is pending.

June 13 - Theft of property from a vehicle was reported on E. Rosemont Ave. at 5:38 a.m. The case is pending.

June 12 - An assault was reported between two or more people who knew each other. The incident occurred in the 900 block of N. Alfred St. at 5:49 p.m. The case is pending.

June 12 - An assault was reported between two or more people who knew each other. The incident occurred in the 1100 block of N. Pitt St. at 2 p.m. The case is pending.

June 12 - Theft of property from a vehicle was reported in the 200 block of S. Payne St. at 8:28 a.m. The case is pending.

June 11 - A breaking-and-entering incident was reported in the 300 block of Cameron St. at 8:38 p.m. The case is pending.

June 11 - Unknown suspect/s stole a woman's bicycle, which was chained to a pipe in her vehicle parking spot in an apartment complex garage in the 600 block of N. West St. at 1:41 p.m. The case is pending.

June 11 - Unknown suspect/s stole a bicycle from the garage bicycle storage area in the victim's apartment building in the 800 block of John Carlyle St. at 1:02 p.m. The case is open.

June 10 - A woman reported that unknown suspect/s stole her wallet, which was in her purse in a drawer in her workplace office in the 400 block of Courthouse Sq. at 5:55 p.m.  The case is pending.

June 10 - A sexual offense was reported in the 700 block of N. Fayette St. at 5:57 p.m. The case is pending. 

June 10 - A vehicle was reported stolen in the 1500 block of Cameron St. at 5:20 p.m. The case is pending.

June 9 - A robbery was reported in the 300 block of S. Washington St. at 10:34 a.m. The case is open.

It just seems to me that in the interest of public safety the APD could provide a little more information on some of the more serious types of crime. For example, the sexual offense...was there an actual rape or was someone simply touched inappropriately...it does make a difference. If there was a serious offense perhaps a description of the perp would be nice. Relative to the assaults...were they armed? Seems the APD is trying to downplay what is going on in Alexandria. I'm not saying that crime is up but it sure seems like they don't really want us to know what is going on. Just my thought. Thanks.
