Driver Strikes Child on Halloween Night in Alexandria
Eight-year-old boy in stable condition following incident on Russell Road.
A driver struck an 8-year-old boy who was trick-or-treating Thursday night near the corner of Russell Road and Aspen Street in Alexandria.
The child was transported to Children’s National Medical Center and is in stable condition after suffering a broken leg.
The incident occurred at approximately 7 p.m.

A police spokesperson said the driver initially left the scene but contacted police within 10 minutes of the incident and was taken into custody.
A city official told Patch the driver was a Papa John's Pizza delivery man.
