Updated: Alexandria Police Locate Missing Adult

David Short of Warwick Village was found safe and unharmed on Wednesday morning.

10:45 a.m. Wednesday update — Alexandria Police have located David Short. He was found safe and unharmed and returned to his residence in Warwick Village around 9 a.m.

The Alexandria Police Department is seeking the public’s help in locating an endangered 71-year-old Warwick Village man who has been missing since 9 a.m. Tuesday.

David Short, who lives in the 200 block of Guthrie Avenue, suffers from dementia and is in need of daily medication, police said.

He is described as a 5-foot-10, 143-pound white male, slightly balding with gray hair. He has a thick gray mustache and blue eyes. It is unknown what he was wearing at the time of his disappearance.

Police beieve Short is driving a 2006 silver and green Honda CRV with Virginia license plate KBK-6001. He was reportedly on his way to the Virginia Hospital Center in Arlington when he went missing.  

The Alexandria Police said it's possible Short is in the Gainesville area of Prince William County.
