Alexandria Firefighters Battle Blaze in Beverley Hills Home

One Alexandria firefighter was transported to the hospital after responding to a fire on Chalfonte Drive.

One Alexandria firefighter was treated for smoke inhalation Monday after battling a late-morning house fire in Beverely Hills.

At 11:37 a.m., the Alexandria Fire Department responded to a report of smoke coming from a home in the 800 block of Chalfonte Drive.

After arriving on the scene, firefighters discovered a basement fire that also entered the first-level of the home, according to and Alexandria Fire Department spokesperson.

The home was unoccupied at the time of the blaze and it took about 30 minutes for the fire to be extinguished. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
