Alexandria Fire Crews Respond to Linden Street House Fire

Alexandria fire fighters discover fire inside the wall of a Rosemont home.

Alexandria fire crews quickly extinguished a fire in the unit block of E. Linden Street Tuesday evening.

At 6:02 p.m., the Alexandria Fire Department received a call of smoke in a house. The first company on the scene witnessed smoke coming from the home and found a fire inside a wall, according to AFD spokesperson Michael Gerber. The fire fighters were able to extinguish the blaze in short order after opening the wall, Gerber said.

The residents of the house exited safely, Gerber said. They have been relocated with the help of friends or family.
